Terry Devlin

I am a mid-life career-changer. I initially worked in the hotel business, and I worked in several hotels in major cities across the US. I was fired from my last job as General Manager of a hotel when the property was sold. I returned to Houston, assessed my life, and decided to change things around quite a bit. I returned to school and earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of Houston, completed a three-year internship with a clinical psychologist, and sat for my licensure exam.  I passed the test and have held my license for more than 30 years.

Over the course of my experience in the hospitality industry I interviewed several hundred candidates, and I hired dozens and dozens. I have been a candidate myself, and have interviewed for many positions as well, so when it comes to job interviews I have experience from both sides of the desk. I have learned a great deal over the years, and I enjoy working with clients, continuing to learn, and sharing that knowledge. I have won several awards for an internet job-search advice column that I hosted.

I believe that enthusiasm and a positive, confident attitude are essential ingredients to success in an endeavor and I try to approach my work with those attributes in mind. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and help you achieve your career goals.
